I spent 13 years on wrestling mats across the country. I know what it feels like to cut 15 pounds in a week. I've made every weight-cutting mistake in the book.
As a freshman, I nearly passed out during practice because I was experimenting with extreme eating patterns, thinking less food meant better performance. My coaches were great, my parents were supportive, but sports nutrition knowledge just wasn't what it is today.
I had to learn through trial and error—and I made a lot of errors.

Why I Created Bullard Nutrition
After years of trial-and-error with my own nutrition and seeing other wrestlers struggle with the same challenges, I realized there was a gap in wrestling-specific nutrition guidance.
During my wrestling years, I experienced:
- Confusing and contradictory weight-cutting advice from teammates
- Trial-and-error approaches that sometimes worked, sometimes didn't
- The challenge of finding reliable, wrestling-specific nutrition information
- Missing out on potential because I didn't understand the science behind fueling performance
I knew there had to be a better way.
That's why I became a Registered Dietitian. I combined my 13 years of wrestling experience with evidence-based nutrition science to create the resources I wish I'd had access to as a young athlete.
